A prisoner who is currently serving a five-year prison sentence for assault causing actual bodily harm at the Lusignan Prison, was yesterday charged for allegedly calling the emergency number 911 on several occasions and threatening to kill President David Granger and to shoot at the Brickdam Police Station.
Alim Ally appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Senior Magistrate, Leron Daly, and was slapped with four threatening language charges.
It is alleged that on November 19 at the Lusignan Prison, via the emergency number 911, he threatened to kill the President, and on the same day in question he called the emergency number 911 and threatened to shoot-up the Brickdam Police Station.
It was further alleged that on November 10 at the Lusignan Prison in the Essequibo Magisterial District, via the emergency number 911 he threatened to kill President David Granger and on the same day in question he called the emergency number 911 and threatened to shoot at the Brickdam Police Station.
Police Prosecutor, Arvin Moore told the court that the accused called the emergency number 911 twice on the days mentioned in the charges.
Ally was remanded to prison and was instructed to make his next court appearance today, when he will be placed before Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan for assignment.
