Police are investigating reports that bandits in a car robbed a pump attendant and a security guard at the R.P Service Station at Triumph Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara, around 23.30 hours on Thursday.
Police stated that Dhareswar Budhai, 59, and security guard Sheik Hassan, 55, were at the service station when five men in a white car exited the vehicle and held them at gunpoint.
The bandits allegedly relieved the two staffers of $14,200.00, two cellular phones and full cooking gas cylinders.
The victims were also beaten and locked in a washroom at the back of the service station.
No arrests had yet been made up to press time.
