The US has recommitted to support the natural resources sector, especially in areas of new
technology and solid waste management.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment, a team from the Embassy of the United States of America, consisting of Frisco McDonald, Economic and Political Officer; and D. James Bjorkman, Political and Economic Counselor, recently paid a courtesy call on Minister Robert Persaud.
“Discussion centered on ongoing support for the Natural Resources and the Environmental Sectors with emphasis on sustainability and environmental stewardship. Minister Persaud stated that the United States Embassy has been a valuable external partner with collaboration in the areas of oil and gas, park and green spaces development and Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, among other areas.”
