Three men were shot at killed at around mid morning today after they reportedly attempted to rob a gold mining office at Premnaragan Place Prashad Nagar. Two of the dead men have been identified as, Tony Ogle and Leon Gittens. The third man is still unidentified.
Reports are that around 10:30 hours police received a tip-off that three men were planning a robbery at the Platinum Gold mining office. Acting on that information, ranks in civilian clothes went to the area and waited for the men to strike. This publication was told that as the men entered the yard they were closely followed by ranks, resulting in a confrontation, during which the three suspected bandits were shot. The three men were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where they all succumbed while receiving treatment. There are also reports that police recovered two firearms from the scene of the shooting.
