Coach / Player of the national rugby team currently preparing for the Las Vegas,
Theodore Henry, in an interview with Kaieteur Sport shortly before they embarked on a training session at the National Park, highlighted some of the concerns and positives of the preparation as they set sights on doing well, at the IRB Hong Kong Sevens Tournament.
Henry, who has been spearheading the preparation at the local level for sometime, disclosed that the team is presently into the game simulation mode where they are getting the game systems up and running in terms of choosing the right unit to start with and comfortable positions for respective players as they head to the USA.

He, however, said that the main aim right now is for the team to peak for the Hong Kong tournament.
“It is a challenge for the guys, but they’ve all committed to achieving the goal and I’m optimistic that solid results are just around the corner on the international stage,” Henry mentioned.
He conceded that as much as they are striving to achieve a higher level of fitness, they are also cognizant of the risk involved in pushing too hard too fast which could risk more injuries to team members.
Peabo Hamilton, who was originally part of the squad, suffered an injury to his wrist and had to be replaced by Christopher Singh.
