A Diamond man is in the hospital after he was allegedly attacked on New Year’s Day
by a scrap iron dealer and dumped at a cemetery in the Albouystown area.
The victim, Aaron Mohamed Esuph, 25, of Section C, Block Y, Diamond New Scheme, East Bank Demerara, is currently nursing a broken leg and other injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
According to Esuph, early on New Year’s morning, around 06:00am, he went to the Albouystown dealer intending to sell scrap metal worth $7000.
At that business place, he claimed, he was approached by two men, both employees, who asked him to wait outside on the boss.
The injured man claimed that the owner came and accused him of stealing the scrap metal from his yard.
He was later beaten by the two workers and almost lost consciousness. He recalled hearing the men wondering if he was dead.
The victim said that they picked him up, thinking that he was dead, and dumped him in the Le Repentir cemetery, not far away.
“After them left, I slowly crawl out and crawl over a trench that had thick bushes and I reach a yard and I mek a lot of noise and I don’t know if somebody hear me or what but some black clothes police come and pick me up and take me to the hospital.”
The injured man complained to the police and his father also made a report to the Ruimveldt Police Station, but up to press time no one had been detained.
BE THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL TO THE FOREIGN EXPLOITERS
