Two men are presently nursing chop wounds following separate chopping incidents in the Pomeroon River on Saturday night.
Both men were wounded by members of their respective families, with one suffering at the hands of his son.
According to the police, 30-year-old Epson English, a miner of Akawani, in the Lower Pomeroon River, sustained four chop wounds at the hands of two of his brothers-in- law, following an argument which stemmed from an old family grievance.
English is presently a patient at the Oscar Joseph Hospital, while according to the police, one of his brothers-in-law is behind bars.
Meanwhile, a 24-year man of St. Monica’s, Upper Pomeroon River, is on the run after inflicting a chop wound to his father’s neck also on Saturday night.
Police said both father and son were celebrating at a birthday when an argument erupted over a disagreement between them over the type of music being played.
The 42-year-old father is now a patient at the Suddie Public Hospital.
