The Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) will on Saturday hold a fundraising luncheon at the National Gymnasium starting at 1:00pm.
A sumptuous meal has been promised and tickets cost $1,000. Beverages will also be on sale and the general public is asked to come out and support the association. Several of the young boxers preparing for overseas engagements and GABA officials will be on hand to interact.
The event has been organised to help the association raise money to send a team of boxers to the Ronald Wilson Memorial tournament in Barbados from November 30 to December 5.
Over $1M is needed to send the team to this event and along with other international events prior to the London Olympics next year, a sizeable amount of money is required by the association to offset the impending expenses.
Apart from the public, corporate Guyana is invited to support the association in its endeavours.
