Last year, the Ministry of Housing land sale for house lots and private scheme development saw that state agency collecting over $889M.
According to the audited financial statements recently tabled in the National Assembly for approval, this was an increase of $154.59M over the 2009 figures.
Over the same period, building application fees saw government drawing in almost $9M, just over $1.2M more the previous year.
Income from house lot application forms dropped, in 2010, by over $1M to $3,107,400.
Total income last year amounted to $1.94B while the Ministry’s expense then was $692M. This was compared to $1.189B income in 2009 and $226M in expenses in 2009.
Under income from transport processing fees, the state entity collected $32.69M, as compared to $20.24 in 2009.
Some $705M from Under the heading Government of Guyana Housing Projects, some $680M was reported as spent on housing projects, in all likelihood infrastructural and other works.
However, government collected a massive $705M from its housing projects as compared to the $166M that came in during 2009.
House lot allottees who received refunds amounted to $17.81M as compared to the $42.92M the previous year.
