Blenheim United defeated Rebels by 77 runs in the Arthur Joseph Memorial U-19 cricket tournament in Leguan played recently.
The former team batted first and amassed 217-5 from their allotted 25 overs. Tulsieram Premnauth smashed a resilient half century (88) laced with five glorious sixes to lead the batting charge for the eventual winners. He received admirable support from opener Shivindra Hemraj who contributed 63. A Jagroo bagged 2-38 for the opposition.
Premnauth then returned to snare 3-21 that eventually helped restrict Rebels to 140 all out in 22.5 overs.
Sultan Ali struck a glorious half century (76) but was let down by poor batting from his team mates. The next best total was 14 offered by Seenarine Oudit. Premnauth’s bowling feat proved to be the best for his team.
