Parbattie Ramkissoon, 65, of 612 Third Street, Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, wants the relevant authorities to investigate several complaints of abuse that were lodged and ignored by the system.
“I am not getting any justice; this man does bully me and I can’t take it anymore. I need help!
“I went to Ministry of Human Service and they call he and he said that he ain’t going nowhere. I went to Help and Shelter and the police, they say if he beat me then they will take action, if not they can’t take action.”
Ramkissoon said that her 60-year-old husband has been pressing her to sign over her house and land to him for the past three years. She said that during this time she has been facing constant abuse at the hands of her husband.
She explained that she met the man three years ago. She said that her husband even forced her son to stop dwelling in the home because of the constant abuse which she endured.
“The man a torment the boy. The boy say before he beat am and kill he is better he go he way.”
Ramkissoon disclosed that the man’s son from a previous marriage visited her home and stole various items. “I take a music set from Courts; this boy take the music set and the DVD and sell it. When I ask he now, he say that me must have hide it and say that the boy carry it away.”
The depressed woman said that she reported the matter to the Grove Police Station many times and no action has been taken.
The Grove Police could not confirm the dates of the reports.
