The Rose Hall Town Metro Female team on Saturday would play Enterprise in a 40 overs match at the Enterprise ground. The match, which would start at 11:00hours, is the start of the national female cricket champion’s preparation for the defence of their national championship later this year.
The team would be led by national captain and West Indies all rounder Shemaine Campbell while her deputy would be fellow West Indies player Erva Giddings. National senior player players Nikita Toney, Natasha Gangoo and Melanie Henry are also part of the squad along with former national Under-19 player Jacquelin Singh.
The full Team: Shemaine Campbelle, Erva Giddings, Melanie Henry, Natasha Gangoo, Nikita Toney, Melanie Henry, Nermala Sewdat, Tessa Park, Phaffiana Millington, Jacquelin Singh, Shenella McBean and Katana Mentore.
The teams would clash for a $25,000 winners’ prize donated by Mr. Robert Selman, General Manager of the Guyana Beverage Company. Secretary/CEO of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Hilbert Foster stated that the Rose Hall Town Metro team was determined to successfully defend their national championship and as such a series of matches would be arranged to get the girls in top form before the championship starts.
