Telford, who was very vociferous during the court hearing, proclaiming that he was not gay, is accused of chopping Kissoon to death in the wake of an act of sodomy.
The Killing occurred in a drug yard in Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, which both men shared with other persons.
A post mortem examination was done on Monday at the New Amsterdam Hospital by Dr Vivekanand Brijmohan. It concluded that Kissoon died from multiple chops about the body.
Telford had turned himself over to the police shortly after committing the act. The murder weapon, a cutlass, was also recovered
The accused had told investigators that Kissoon would usually sodomise him when he fell asleep under the influence of narcotics. He claimed that when he awoke he had to endure the discomfort in his rear.
On Saturday night one such episode occurred and the following morning Telford confronted his alleged molester.
About 09:45 hours on Sunday an argument ensued and Telford armed himself with a cutlass and chopped Kissoon on the back of the head, right ear, right hand, left side head, and left shoulder and left upper arm.
Telford then gave himself up to the police.
According to police reports, the victim was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The accused was also taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital on Monday after complaining of feeling discomfort in his rear.
A medical examination confirmed that Telford was sodomised. Kaieteur News understands that Telford had reported previous incidents of being sodomised but there are no reports that action was taken.
He had also taken his case to a television station in Berbice but again no action was taken.
