Guyana Water Inc has commenced the installation of distribution mains in a hitherto unserved section of the Central Mahaicony area.
The section is to the southern side of the roadway where the Mahaicony railway line used to be and the project involves the laying of 1.5 kilometres of pipelines and connections.
GWI started the project which will cost of approximately $3M, two weeks ago. 3The new lines are to be connected to the well at Farm, Mahaicony (near to the hospital) and residents will benefit from the service in their yards and homes for the first time ever, by the end of this month, a GWI source said.
The source urged the beneficiaries to visit GWI’s offices and pay for connections as quickly as possible so that they can access the potable water supplies in their yards and homes shortly after completion of the pipe laying exercise.
BE THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL TO THE FOREIGN EXPLOITERS
