De La Rue’s Team Leader, Mr David Colgan and GECOM Commissioner Steve Surujbally during the signing process
A signing ceremony last Tuesday effectively acknowledged the Guyana Elections Commission’s (GECOM) acceptance of tests to verify the functionality detailed in the terms of the Contract between GECOM and De La Rue International Limited for the sale of new national identification cards and systems upgrade.
GECOM Commissioner, Dr. Steve Surujbally, signed the obligatory Certificate of Acceptance of the Multiple Identification Issuing System (MIDIS), which was supplied by De La Rue International Limited for the production of ID cards. The signing, which took place in the GECOM Boardroom immediately before the Commission’s 2706 Statutory Meeting, immediately triggered the commencement of a 12 months warranty that the hardware, inter alia, shall be free from defects in design, materials and workmanship.
The Acceptance certificate was signed in the presence of all of the six Commissioners, the Chief Elections Officer, other senior staff members of the GECOM Secretariat, and Mr. David Colgan, De La Rue’s Team Leader for the project who had returned briefly to Guyana specifically for this purpose.
BE THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL TO THE FOREIGN EXPLOITERS
