In another display of support for sports and sports persons, German’s Restaurant made good on a promise to sponsor, when they completed formalities last Wednesday, at the entity’s location on Newmarket Street.
Managing Director Clinton Urling presented a cheque to cover travelling expenses for Squash players Alysa Xavier and Nyron Joseph, both of whom attended the recently staged Caribbean Junior Tournament which was held in Barbados.
Joseph and Xavier were part of the Boys and Girls’ team that successfully defended their titles for a record two consecutive years.
Joseph finished third in the Boys’ Under-15 category, while Xavier failed to make it to the medal round.
The entity is known to have made significant contributions to disciplines such as cricket, football and tennis as well as several individuals involved in sports.
