The 25-year-old man who was detained by police in connection with the Pomeroon double murder has been released from police custody.
This newspaper was told that the man was released from the Anna Regina Police Station after intense questioning.
According to a source, the man was assisting investigators in identifying a vessel, which was believed to have been the victims’ vessel.
Also, yesterday Romeo De Agrella’s wife said police once again visited her home claiming that they were searching for illegal items.
On Monday last the bullet-riddled bodies of 41-year-old Romeo and his 20-year-old son Clint De Agrella were found in the Pomeroon River.
According to an official, 20-year-old Clint De Agrella sustained bullet wounds to the head, while his 41-year-old father was shot in the back.
Both victims appeared to have been shot at close range and a bullet the police retrieved indicated that the killer(s) used an assault rifle.
