Dear Editor,
It’s alarming to know that Guysuco is in this situation when they could have avoided it. Instead management continues to make the same mistakes over and over again. Let’s look at the estates how staff members are promoted. Once you work long in the estate it’s automatic that you will be promoted even if you can’t manage. It’s alarming that the amount of staff that is getting promotion and don’t even know how to do a budget. I have seen these individuals making decisions that would not even benefit the estates, but it’s just that they want to make sure someone is being placed on the job. I am calling on the top brackets in Guysuco to look into these matters, and the estates be fully equipped with qualified people for that position.
Managers in Guysuco should be outstanding; they should be leaders who people will look up to and respect. I have seen workers that would announce themselves in front of managers and tell them what to do and who to send on jobs all because these workers will sit, talk and drink with their boss. I am calling on the Minister of Agriculture and the CEO to look into these matters and put Guysuco in a better position.
