Youth Basketball Guyana’s (YBG) National School Basketball Festival (NSBF) Georgetown and East Coast continued on Sunday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with Plaisance, Bishops’ High, Marian Academy and St. Roses High winning in the Girls’ category.
Plaisance Secondary defeated Charlestown Secondary 13-2 with Daniela King scoring five points with four steals and Faith Primo four points and five steals for Plaisance. Taejha Allen scored two points for Charlestown.
Bishops’ High defeated Tutorial High 16-2 with Sileena Arjune putting up six points and Kesann Charles four points for Bishops’ High. Mary Grant scored two points for Tutorial High in the game.
Marian Academy beat President’s College 12-8 with Jada Mohan scoring four points with five steals and GeorginnaVyphuis four points and seven rebounds. Glaudia Garraway scored six points for President’s College.
St Roses High then trashed St. Stanislaus College 16-2 with Jada Amerally scoring six points and two steals and Ashley Khan six points and three steals. Natesha Seymour had two points for Saints.
In the male U-16 category, Marian Academy beat President’s College 23-15 with Jordan Alphonso putting up 14 points and six rebounds. Akeem Crandon scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds for President’s College.
Meanwhile in the U-19 group, Tutorial High, President’s College and Government Technical Institute (GTI) all recorded wins.
Tutorial High defeated St. Stanislaus College 45-35 with Manasseh Murray scoring 12 points, Denzil Logan 10 points, and Tariq Nelson eight points and 10 rebounds. Kadeem Bowen scored 14 points for St. Stanislaus College.
President’s College beat Bishops’ High 41-34 with Jahleel Duke pouring in 15 points and Kadeem Peterkin 12 points for President’s College. Timothy Thompson scored 15 points, and Mikhail Broomes nine points for Bishops.
GTI defeated St. Roses High 46-25 with Nathan Saul scoring 14 points and Kerwin Griffith 10 points. Patrice Agrippa added nine points and Anfernee Jervis six points for St. Roses.
Digicel, Edward B. Beharry and Company Ltd and Banks DIH LTD are the sponsors of the tournament.
