Released from jail just a week ago on a burglary conviction, a 43-year-old Grove, East Bank Demerara Squatting Area man, was nabbed yesterday breaking into another house, in the same area, where he was previously caught.
It was in October 2014, that police had arrested James Hutton, called ‘Dufu,’ following a burglary in a house in Section A, Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara. Hutton pleaded guilty to break and enter and larceny and was jailed for six months.
But he was released last week after serving just four months of his sentence.
Hutton appears to have a liking for houses in Diamond Housing Scheme, and police alleged that around 15.30 hrs yesterday, he broke into a two-storied house in the community.
No one was at home at the time, but neighbours reportedly spotted the thief entering via a kitchen window. Kaieteur News understands that Hutton was packing his booty when residents surrounded the house.
However, ranks from the Golden Grove Police Station arrived and saved the would-be burglar from the wrath of the irate neighbours.
They reportedly found Hutton hiding in the bathroom. He was taken into custody and is to be charged shortly.
