Two car wash attendants charged for stealing cash from a customer’s car were placed on $15,000 bail each when they appeared in court yesterday.
Rondell Constantali, 19, of Lot 22 William Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, and Andrew Vellon, 21, also of Albouystown, appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore yesterday in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to respond to a charge of Simple Larceny.
They both pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that Sunday, last (August 17) at Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, they stole $25,000 from Dennis Adams’ car.
Vellon and Constantali were represented by Attorney at Law, Paul Fung-a-Fat, who explained that they were employed at Ravi’s Car wash. He said though his clients worked with others, they were the ones accused of taking the cash from Adams’ car.
The lawyer requested reasonable bail for his clients. His application was met with no objections from Police Prosecutor, Corporal Aduni Innis, thus bail was granted. The case is set to be called again before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on October 8.
