Patrick Forbes, the Jamaican businessman who was shot multiple times in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, succumbed to his injuries at around 19:00 hrs yesterday.
Forbes, 36, of Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown, had been admitted to a private hospital in a critical condition.
Police had stated that Forbes was among a group of persons on Orange Walk, when shots were discharged in their direction.
Forbes, who had recently purchased a car, was hit to his abdomen and right thigh.
Kaieteur News was told that Forbes, who operates a boutique at Forshaw Street, Georgetown, shares the same house with a Jamaican friend.
“We are like brothers. He does be back and forth from Jamaica to here. In the evenings he does normally go play dominoes at the corner,” the friend had told this publication.
He added that around 19:00hrs on Tuesday, Forbes dropped him home and left to go and play dominoes at Orange Walk. That was the last he heard from his friend.
Forbes was reportedly shot some eight times a few years ago in Jamaica.
