– sales slow, hope to develop after the ‘elections fever’
After a few weeks of its opening, the New Stelling View Mall is fully occupied. But sales are slow.
Vendors believe that the decrease in sales is caused by the fact that persons are not yet hooked in the venue while some are simply oblivious to the fact that it even exists.
“Being at the back here is not a bonus at all because them at the front getting sales and business fuh we slow” said one vendor.
“I deh here before the last official opening and business was good. Is just now when people feeling the election fever that business slow down” said a food vendor.
As the election approaches some vendors also complained about individuals who have started issuing threats to stall owners while they tend to scare away their customers.
As such the vendors whose stalls are housed in the New Stelling Mall are calling upon the general public and the political parties to make this election one without violence and allow the innocent to make a living.
“We hoping that when the elections finish we gon start getting sales, and more likely than not the customers gon start building up” said Shelly, a stall owner.
