A man who claims he lives at Light Street, Alberttown, was yesterday remanded to prison having been charged with buggery when he made an appearance at the Vreed-en-hoop Magistrate’s Court.
The accused, 26-year-old Derrick Manniram, appeared before Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin.
It is alleged that on October 17, last, at Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo, Manniram had sex with a cow. The accused was not required to plea to the indictable charge.
Manniram, who was unrepresented, was remanded and is expected to make his next court appearance on October 24.
On Monday, last, the man was caught by members of the Community Policing Group and residents of the community, having sex with a cow.
Initial reports are that on the same day the man tried to have sex with another calf when the owner spotted him and chased him away before securing her animal.
She subsequently informed members of the CPG, who went in search of the perpetrator.
The man was apparently not satisfied that he was unable to mate with the cow, so he caught another one and tied it to a jamoon tree and commenced the bestial act. It was then that he was pounced upon by the CPG members.
Two weeks ago he was forced to compensate a man to the tune of $10,000 after the man’s dog succumbed after it was sexually assaulted.
