Three men were brought to the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer to charges of fraud. Steven Hamilton of Lot 128 Housing Scheme Plaisance; Rohee Ramsanuyh of 23 Atlantic Ville East Coast Demerara; and Anand Ramsood all pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The allegations were that Hamilton intended to defraud Latisha Joseph, by falsely pretending that he had 24.46 grams of raw gold for sale. Ramsood and Ramsanuyh were accused of the same offence.
On September 28, last, Ramsood and Ramsanuyh reportedly attempted to take money from Audrey Samaroo for the sale of alleged raw gold. Ramsood allegedly pretended to have in his possession 51.03 grams of raw gold for sale knowing the same to be false.
Ramsanuyh was also charged with trying to defraud the said individual. The court was told that on September 28, Ramsanuyh tried to defraud Audrey Samaroo by pretending that he had for sale, raw gold in an amount of 12.38 grams knowing that same was false.
The prosecution had no objections to bail, only that the three men be granted bail on special circumstances and that the amount be substantial. The court ordered the men to post $125,000 bail each and the matter put down to October 18.
