Trinidad and Tobago put Windward Islands in the spot as they made them follow-on, on day two the U-19 three day cricket tournament yesterday as at Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
Trinidad and Tobago scored 271 all out after resuming at 219-6 when play started yesterday.
The Windwards were dismissed for 121 batting in their first innings. After facing 124 balls, Windward Islands Kaven Hodge (captain) scored a half century (50) as he was caught by Akeal Hossein off Derone Davis. Support came from Sunil Ambriss (34), hitting two boundaries with 1 six. The remaining players were unable to make double figures as the team crumbled at 15:15 hrs in 56 overs.
Derone Davis captured 5 wickets in 22 overs at the cost of 45 runs with 6 maidens. Savion Lara, Jovan Ali and Idress Mohammed supported Davis as they took one wicket a piece, as Windward Islands was asked to follow on.
Jamal James and Emmanuel Peter, who opened batting, were unable to reach double figures falling for 8 and 9 respectively. Hodge (33) was caught by Christian Herrera off Ali as Ambriss was LBW for duck leaving the score at 59-4.
Keon George (6*) and Ray Jordon (0*) will continue Windward Islands hunt today at Guyana National Stadium as Trinidad and Tobago with a lead of 91 runs look to tighten the screws for a commanding win.
