Banking giants Republic Bank (Guy) Ltd has once again joined hands with the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club and sponsored for the 4th successive year, the Club’s Annual Sports & Educational Summer Camp. The camp would be held from July 12 at the Area “H” Ground for a period of six weeks and would be for sixty Grade 6 Primary School students.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster stated that the main aim of the camp would be to make sure that the Grade 6 students are fully prepared for their entrance into Secondary School in September and also to expose them to the basic coaching in cricket, volleyball, chess, athletics and basketball.
The students would be involved in classroom work and would be taught Math, English, Social Studies and Integrated Science.
Members of the Club and professional personnel would also lecture them on several topics including the Importance of Education and discipline, HIV/AIDS, Peer Pressure, Drug Abuse, Public Speaking and Personal Hygiene.
The 2009 National Sports Personality stated that at the end of the camp students would be fully prepared for the transition from Primary to Secondary Schools and should also be aware of the importance of sports and how it can assist in their personal development. Mr. Foster also expressed gratitude to the Management and Staff of Republic Bank for their continued sponsorship and pledged that the camp would be a total success.
Manager of the Rose Hall Town branch, Mr. Leon Mc Donald in handing over the sponsorship Cheque of $120,000 stated that Republic Bank placed lots of emphasis on education as it is the foundation to a successful future.

The Camp would be organized by the Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets First Division Team and conducted by Senior Teacher Rohan Etwaru.
