Judge Sandra Kurtzious yesterday sentenced photographer, Vidya Kumar Tulasram, a/k”Tony” to 20 years’ imprisonment, after he was found guilty of rape (carnal knowledge) of a minor.
Kurtzious in handing down the sentence to Tulasram on Friday, at the Suddie High court took into consideration the age of the victim, who was 13 at the time, reminded Tulasram that his actions by all means were wrong.
Tulasram, who operates a photo studio at Anna Regina, appeared to be in a state of shock at the sentence. He was represented by counsel, Heimraj Rajkumar.
Tulasram, of Richmond Village, allegedly had forceful sex with a 13-year-old Anna Regina Secondary School student at his Photo studio, at Anna Regina, on February 18, 2010.
The then 13-year-old visited Tulasram on the day in question, around 16:30hrs, at his studio with the intention of uplifting a photograph. It was alleged that Tulsaram, who was attending to other customers, allegedly closed the main door and invited the then 13-year-old to sit on a wooden stool and then he began to kiss her passionately.
Tulasram, a father of two, was previously indicted in the Magistrate’s court with several related carnal knowledge cases.

I applaud this judge for applying this sentence that was given out, for too often these sick behaviors are never brought to justice leaving the victims ashamed that they did something wrong, leading many to kill themselves. Its appear that this gentleman, or calling him a man is the wrong thing, has been getting away with this behavior for quite sometime now, thus he felt that he could continue to wreck tthose innocent lives.
I know Brother Tony if it is the same person . Sad that his path lead him to this he did not take his Religion seriously at all.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! More sentences like this one, please! And THANK YOU, Judge Kurtzious!
it was good the judge give him that sentence if he was found gulity but what happen when the same underage girls go in there own and sleep with that person and when they get caught with it they call out for rape and persons always say that theman should have know it was wrong but them under age girls now is something else
