The Guyana Badminton Association has expressed pleasure at receiving a donation of Shuttlecocks from the Haynes Foundation.
The items were handed over at the Queens College Badminton Courts during a small reception which included members of the GBA and badminton players.
Both founders of the Haynes Foundation, Patrick and Paul Haynes were Members of the Yonex Badminton Club and played with the Club in the 80’s. They however migrated to the US where they formed the foundation to help give back to sports in Guyana.
The Shuttlecocks will be used during training sessions of the 15-Member Pan American Badminton Championship Team currently in training. The Championships is fixed for July 23 to August 1 in Jamaica.
Guyana brought home the bronze last year from the Dominican Republic where some 19 countries took part.
