The Alliance for Change will be dispatching a team to the mining town of Mahdia which was ravaged by a fire of historic proportions and will investigate why there was no water available to alleviate the situation.
This is according to a party statement which pointed out that this will be done in light of a $150M investment in the community to provide water for the community.
“The residents are understandably upset that an important community as theirs is without water and even a fire tender to address calamities such as the one which struck on Thursday.”
Meanwhile, the party in a statement to the media said that the entire body of the AFC commiserates with the victims of the Mahdia fire who lost their homes and possessions on Thursday.
A fire ripped through the commercial district of the mining town on Thursday evening, destroying scores of businesses, leaving millions in damages and close to 200 persons homeless.
