The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha will hold the final of its Chowtaal Samelan tonight as Hindus prepare to celebrate Phagwah.
The Samelan will be held from 18:00 h at the Annandale Mandir, East Coast Demerara. Pandit Inderpal Tiwari will declare the evening open and Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud will deliver a message.
The Rama Krishna Chowtaal Gole would be there along with top singers Mohan Nandu, Sookranie Boodhoo, Ramkissoon Singh, Rekha Singh, Suchitra Rampersaud nad Krishna Mandata.
The festival of Phagwah, or Holi, will be celebrated throughout the country on Monday.
In Georgetown, Holi Utsav will take place at the Dharmic Sanskritik Kendra, Prashad Nagar from 15:00 hrs.
Holi Dahan – the burning of Holika will precede the celebration and takes place on Sunday evening at the Camptown Ground, Campbellville. Devotees will assemble at the Shri Krishna Mandir at 19:00 hrs for Hawan.
The Dharmic Rama Krishna Chowtaal Gole, led by Parbhu Dyal Sattan will lead the procession to Camptown Ground.
Special Satsangh will be held on Phagwah morning at the Dharmic Rama Krishna Mandir at 08:30 hrs and Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud will conduct the ceremony.
