On Monday, July 13, Head of McNeal Enterprise and boxing promoter, Odinga Lumumba, convened a press conference at the Leisure Inn Guest House, Delph Street, Campbellville to break the news that he had finally tied up arrangements with former World Boxing Council welterweight champion, Andrew ‘Sixheads’ Lewis and world rated fighter, Rawle Frank.
He said that the two had signed a contract to oppose each other in a middleweight bout on either September 26 or October 3.
Lumumba further disclosed that the fight would have served as an elimination bout for the middleweight title held by Howard ‘Battersea Bomber’ Eastman.
Our report, unfortunately advocated that Lewis and Frank would have been fighting for the local middleweight title. Since Howard Eastman is the holder of that title and had never vacated or suffered a loss, the report obviously sparked off some dissention.
We wish to correct the error. Lewis and Frank are fighting an elimination bout with the winner moving on to challenge Eastman for his crown.
We wish to offer our sincerest apologies to the promoter as well as Eastman and the other principals who might have felt embarrassed by this faux pas.
