West Indies ODI batsman Keiron Pollard smashed an unbeaten 110, while gifted West Indies under-19 left-hander Daren Bravo stroked a classy 111 as hosts Trinidad and Tobago reached 335-5 against Barbados on the opening day of their eighth round WICB regional four-day cricket tournament.
Steve Liburd also hit an unbeaten ton against defending champions Jamaica in their eighth round encounter at Sabina Park as action in the West Indies First-Class season continued yesterday.
In T&T, Bravo, who celebrated his 20th birthday on the 6th of this month, registered his second century in his 10th First-Class game, while the 21-year-old Pollard scored his third ton at this level after falling six short in his last game against Guyana.
Lendl Simmons fell for 44 while Adrian Barath, back in the side after missing the last game due to a hamstring injury, made 20 as former West Indies pacer Corey Collymore took 2-54.
In Jamaica, the 24-year-old Liburd converted his fourth fifty at this level into a maiden century and remained undefeated on 116 as the right-hander from St Kitts helped the Leewards to 216-9 innings closed.
West Indies under-19 player Devon Thomas supported with 37 as pacer Andrew Richardson grabbed 3-59 and leg-spinner Gavin Wallace took 3-49 for Jamaica.
The home team were 47-1 in reply with Test batsmen Donovan Pagon (22) and Brenton Parchment (22) at the crease going into the second day today.
