Around 13:00 hours on Friday, three masked bandits, one armed with a shotgun and the other two with cutlasses, descended on the business place owned by Region Six Chairman David Armogan at the Sheet Anchor/ Fort Ordnance Junction, East Canje under the Canje Bridge.
There he sells sand and stone and has a lorry workshop.
The bandit with the gun held up the cashier, before gun butting him and relieving him of the day’s sales. The other bandits held the other workers at bay.
After taking the cash the bandits then made good their escape, but not before firing shots in the air to thwart residents.
The police were informed and arrived on the scene, but the men escaped in the thick jungle nearby.
Up to press time the police were still on the hunt for the bandits whom they believe escaped by river.
