Buxton United FC and Alpha ‘The Hammer’ United have secured 6 points apiece at the end of the second round of the GFF Super League football championship but the former team has assumed the lead by dint of a superior goal difference. (3 to 2).
The GDF has scored 4 points and are positioned in the 3rd place while Sunburst Camptown, Liquid Gold, Bakewell Top XX and Milerock are all bundled on 3 points apiece. Rosignol United is on 1 point while Seawall and Victoria Kings are in the cellar after failing to register a point. The competition continues this Sunday, March 21 when Bakewell Top XX and Milerock oppose each other in an all Linden affair with a supporting game that kicks off at 18:00 hrs. There will also be action at the Wales Community Centre Ground when Seawall and Rosignol United, both desperate to register a win, clash. This game starts at 16:00 hrs.
Then on Sunday March 28, Liquid Gold and Buxton United clash at the Bartica Community Centre Ground from 19:00 hrs. On Saturday April 3 Sunburst Camptown and GDF are slated to meet at the GFC Ground from 19:00 hrs. One day later, on Sunday 4, Victoria Kings and Buxton United meet at the Enmore Ground from 16:00 hrs. The following day, Monday 5, Liquid Gold will look to stave off the challenge of Alpha United commencing at 19:00 hrs at the Bartica Community Centre Ground.
The rescheduling of these games is due to Alpha United and GDF participating in the CFU Club Championship. To date 24 goals have been scored.
