Aman Lallchand was yesterday slapped with five counts of robbery under arms and two counts of illegal gun possession and ammunition.
Lallchand, appearing before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, is accused of robbing Troy Collins of gold and diamond jewellery worth $1.4M on March 1, last. Collins was shot three times about the body during the robbery; Lallchand is yet to be charged for that offense.

A fourth charge stated that Lallchand robbed Sheldon Cheddie of gold and diamond jewellery valuing $740,000 on March 3. It was further alleged that Lallchand robbed Maxwell Thom of two LG computer monitors, two digital recorders and other items totaling $920,000 on December 4, 2009. Two separate charges read that on March 2, Lallchand had in his possession a gun without being the holder of a firearm license. It was further alleged that Lallchand had six live rounds of .38 ammunition.
To all the charges he pleaded not guilty. He was unrepresented in court yesterday.
The prosecutor objected to bail because of the multiplicity of the charges. The prosecutor asked for a date when statements could be served. That application was subsequently granted and the accused is expected to make another court appearance on March 23.
