– four suspects held
ROSE HALL TOWN, CORENTYNE – Police have detained four men in connection with a robbery at an Internet café and wild meat shop at Rose Hall Town, Corentyne.
It is alleged that, at around 20:45 hrs on Saturday, four men, one of whom had a handgun, barged into the premises which is owned by Lennox Allicock of Lot 73 A, Independence Avenue.
The robbers relieved Allicock of an undisclosed amount of cash and several phone cards.
At the time, Allicock was with his wife and a Guyana Police Force corporal, who along with the businessman were forced to lie on the ground. However, police reports indicate that the victim recognized the attackers as men from the Rose Hall Town area.
After the bandits fled, police from the Rose Hall Town Outpost responded to the report and arrested a suspect, who reportedly confessed and implicated three other men.
