Another Basketball competition is set to bounce off tomorrow in Berbice when the Inaugural Nand Persaud Group of Companies (NPG packaging) first division competition bounces off with one game.
The tournament which is organised by sports enthusiast Vibert Garrett will see seven teams participating with the teams being placed into two groups. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semifinal stage where they will engage the top two teams from the other group in the semifinals on 14th and 21st June.
The winner will meet in the finals on the 28th June at the Port Mourant Basketball Court.
Lucrative prizes will be available for the top teams and outstanding individual players. All teams are expected to submit their list of players before the start of the competition and be present at the respective venues 15 minutes before the start of each game.
The participating teams in Group A are: Rose Hall Jammers of Corentyne, Hope Town Stealers of West Berbice and Canje Knights of East Canje. Group B is made up of New Amsterdam Warriors and Smythfield Rockers of New Amsterdam, Fyrish Black Sharks of Corentyne and Ithica Hardliners of West Berbice.
In tomorrow’s encounter Rose Hall Jammers will take on Hope Town Stealers in a Group A encounter.
