A post mortem performed Friday on the remains of Linden resident, Alexis Perreira, has confirmed that she was murdered, but the suspect in her death is now on station bail.
Police sources said that the post mortem revealed that Perreira died from injuries to the neck, compounded by blunt trauma to the head.
However, police have already released their only suspect.
The 47-year-old man, known to residents as David Subner, or ‘Samo’, was taken into custody shortly after Perreira’s body was found in a clump of bushes near his home.
Subner is one of the persons who live in a house on the lot on which the body was found.
The woman’s partially nude and decomposing body was discovered last week Saturday.
The victim’s 19-year-old daughter, Kezia Dawson, identified the remains.
The discovery was made by a woman who lives next door to the property on which the body was found.
A resident, Elwin Gullin, said that he became aware of an obnoxious smell, since Friday night, but thought that an animal’s carcass had been discarded nearby.
The victim’s daughter, Kezia Dawson, said she last saw her mother on Wednesday.
