Noitgedacht and Sans Souci recorded their second victories as play in the GCB U-19 40 overs cricket competition continued recently in Wakenaam with two second round games.
At the Wakenaam Community Centre ground, Noitgedacht overcame Good Success by 20 runs. National U-15 player Hassan Mohamed stroked 55 and got support from Keno Paul 35, as Noitgedacht, who batted first, managed 178 all out in 35 overs. Left arm spinner Moin Khan captured 3-30, Nokta Moses 2-28 and Youganand Balgobin 2-20 for Good Success who were bowled out for 158 in 33 overs in reply. Alex Hill led with 54 while Khan contributed 28, as Ahmad Khan, Mohamed and former national U-15 pacer Neal Ramalho picked up two wickets each for the winners.
At Maria’s Pleasure, Zeelandia lost by 100 runs. Led by 74 from Essequibo U-19 allrounder Seon Venture, 44 from Omal Bacon and 26 from Derwin Daniels, Sans Souci rattled up 228 all out off their allotted 35 overs which was reduced due to rain. Medium pacer Dinesh Rai bagged 6-35. In their turn at the crease the home team could only muster 128 in 25 overs.
National U-19 player Ricardo Adams top scored with 60 as offspinner Rashaad Rasheed claimed 4-24 and Daniels 2-20 for the visitors.
