‘Force ripe’ carnal knowledge trial…
Yesterday at the carnal knowledge trial involving popular West Coast Demerara businessman Surendranauth Persaud, continued at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court.
Persaud, called ‘Force ripe’ is accused of having carnal knowledge of a minor. During his appearance yesterday his lawyer, Pamela De Santos, asked that an order be made to have her client report to a police station on the West Coast of Demerara instead of reporting to CID Eve Leary.
Mrs. De Santos told the court that it would be more convenient for her client to report to any police station on West Coast Demerara since he lives in the area. That was granted and the accused is to make his next court appearance on March 4.
Persaud is accused of having carnal knowledge of a minor some time between March 26, 2008 and December 2009.
He is on $300,000 bail.
