Telrote Griffith, 22, of Lot 11 Joint Service Housing Scheme, yesterday appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson charged with forging a passport document. He pleaded not guilty.
The Immigration Officer attached to the Passport Offices at Camp Street was allegedly arrested with a passport document on February 1, 2008, on a suspicion that he was committing a forgery. He was arrested and placed under house arrest.
His lawyer told the court that his client wasn’t the one who signed the document but it was another Officer called Sherwin Moses.
He further stated that Officer Moses has since confessed.
Magistrate Robertson placed the defendant on $85,000 bail and ordered that he re-appears in court for February 1, 2009.
