Come October 25, the National Park will come alive with the much anticipated 2008 Miss Guyana Diwali Pageant that will see ten beautiful and talented ladies battling for the queen and runner-up titles and lucrative gifts.
Speaking to an organizer yesterday, Kaieteur News was informed that participants will compete in a sari display and will be adjudged on a final intelligence question.
The pageant is promoted and organized by the Guyana National Diwali Pageant Committee.
The event was open to participants countrywide, and has already attracted the interest of several sponsors.
The new queen will win herself a motorcar, but other prizes for the eventual winner and runners-up are being tabulated at the moment, according to organizers.
