A teenager got more than she bargained for after running away from home and is now being monitored at the Georgetown Public Hospital because of her condition.
Reports are that the teen who hails from Linden ran away from her home on Sunday because she did not want to go back to school.
Information reaching this newspaper stated that while fleeing from her home, the girl was offered a ride in a minibus. Sources say that the teen was taken to a location in Canvas City where she was allegedly drugged just after being dropped off at a house.
The teen related that while she was being held at the house, a man placed a gun to her head and another one offered her something to drink, while threatening her that if she told anyone about what happened to her they would kill her.
On Tuesday it was said that the teen took one of the young men’s cellular phones and while he was in the washroom she contacted a taxi driver whom she made arrangements to pick her up and take her home.
The teen was dropped off by the taxi driver and she somehow made it home where she related the incident to her mother.
Early yesterday morning the teen was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she was being treated. Sources say that when the teen arrived home she appeared to be delusional and was vomiting.
Meanwhile the matter has since been reported to the police as the teen has provided them with information.
Reports are that the teen has told investigators that she recalled being held at a house located on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway. The teen reportedly told investigators that several other teenage girls are being held at the house.
There are reports too that after the teen was reunited with her mother, a male kept calling the mother’s cellular phone asking for her. The number has been handed over to investigators and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Police are also trying to locate the house on the highway where the other teenage girls are reportedly being held, as well as the taxi driver who dropped the runaway teen back home, so as to verify her story.
