V Net Communications in an effort to motivate the Essequibo team for the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board/Hand-in-Hand Inter County Under-19 tournament yesterday presented a quantity of jerseys to the team.
The presentation took place at the company’s Delph Street, Campbellville Office where V Net Communications Customer Service Representative Manisha Mohamed handed over the jerseys to Manager of the Essequibo team Andy Ramnarine in the presence of the entity’s Chief Executive Officer Safraz Sheriffudeen and Secretary of the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB), Nazeer Mohamed.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sheriffudeen said that it is part of their corporate responsibility to contribute towards the development of sports especially in Essequibo, the county of his birth and he is pleased about the venture.
He encouraged the youths to take the game seriously and wished them well in the tournament. He made special mention of Essequibian Keemo Paul, Guyana’s latest recruit to the West Indies senior team.
Ramnarine who is also the Treasurer of the ECB expressed gratitude to Sheriffudeen for his support and said his players are confident ahead of the competition which will be played in the three-day and 50-over version.
