2nd edition of ‘The Guyana Cricketer’ to be launched
The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) will honour former Guyana and West Indies batsman Alvin
Kallicharran on Wednesday night at the Savannah Suite, Pegasus Hotel. Alvin Kallicharran has been conducting coaching clinics with young cricketers across the country at the request of the GCB.
Apart from coaching, Kallicharran has been observing and providing guidance to the players who are competing in the current GCB/Raj Singh Insurance Brokers Inter-County Under-19 Competition.
He is also featured in the second edition of ‘The Guyana Cricketer’ magazine and will be the feature speaker at the ceremony. There will also be a short session with Kallicharran autographing copies of the magazine, followed by a cocktail hour to give his loving fans the opportunity to interact with him.
The second edition of ‘the Guyana Cricketer’ will be formally launched on the said evening. Last year to commemorate its 70th anniversary, the GCB launched its first ever magazine which turned out to be successful. Its content includes articles on past and present cricketers, competitions fixtures, and cricket reports among other information.
