Reigning NACRA 7s and 15s champions Guyana will commence the defence of its 15s title with today’s clash against Barbados, at the National Park Playfield.
The local ruggers dubbed the ‘Green Machine’ wrapped up their final practice session on Thursday at the Georgetown Football Club ground and seemed to be brimming with confidence ahead of the engagement against the Bajans.
Head Coach Theodore Henry speaking at a presentation ceremony at Banks DIH on Thursday morning expressed optimism of a victory against a team that the Guyanese have dominated in recent times, adding that the mood in the team is positive and the players are extremely fit and raring to get into action in front of what is anticipated to be a vocal home crowd.
The Bajans players and management arrived yesterday afternoon at the Ogle International Airport and were expected to have a practice session.
