He has been coming here for quite a long time, and by now, must know the
South Dakota Circuit like any other local competitor.
So, when Canadian, Kevin Graham, arrives in Guyana to participate in the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) ‘Race of Champions’ Meeting scheduled for April 1, none of the local riders will have any advantage over him.
The veteran Super-Biker, who has consistently fended off all and sundry that Guyana has to offer over the years will once again visit these shores to compete against the local opposition.
Possessing a wealth of experience at the highest level, Graham has repeatedly stated that his main focus right now is to teach the young and upcoming local contingent the finer art of racing, but was adamant that he is not willing to merely allow them to dominate him without a battle.
Over the past two years, even though he has still been the rider to beat both locally and regionally, Guyana’s, Stephen ‘Valentino Rossi’ Vieira, has quietly become a thorn in the flesh, and even managed to upstage Graham on a few occasions.
Already a Caribbean Champion, Graham, who rides a ‘Sunburst Orange Juice’ Suzuki GRSX 600cc will no doubt be aiming to continue his dominance in the category, but Vieira, Maurice Menezes, Joel Neblett, Gregory Lopes and Carlos Rodrigues will obviously have other thoughts.
Apart from the Super Bike categories, the cars are also anticipated to provide some keen battles in all four Divisions. The first major Meet of the year will provide fans with the kind of ‘edge of your seat’ excitement that will leave them in a state of frenzy throughout the day.
