The Tradewind Tankers Volleyball Tournament organised by the Castrol Strikers has been put on hold because of the unavailability of the venue to host the final leg of competition.
According to member of the organising committee Adolph Davis, repeated checks at the National Sports Commission to ascertain when the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall will be made available to host the final leg of the competition failed to determine a new date for the tournament to resume.
Davis speaking with Kaieteur Sport, said that he was informed that necessary repairs are presently being conducted on the floor of the facility, but could not get a determination of when those repairs will be completed or when a date will be offered to the organisers to conclude the event which started mid-year with matches being played in Berbice and on the West Demerara.
Club champions Young Achievers of Goed Fortuin are the defending champions and they look set to successfully defend their title after putting together a string of impressive performances in the completed formats to date.
