Frank Tucker was re-elected to the helm of the Guyana Amateur Weightlifting Association (GAWA) when that body held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Bank of Guyana, Avenue of the Republic and Church Street, Saturday February 26 last.
Mr. Tucker (centre seated) is flanked by Nurse (right) and Brisport. Standing from left are Cozier, Erskine, Henry and Taylor.
There have been three changes within the executive structure with Seon Erskine taking over the responsibility as Treasurer, replacing Dale Henry. Aubrey Henry has replaced Brian Adams as the Publicity Secretary while Seen Cozier replaces Seon Erskine as the Secretary/Treasurer.
Following his installation, Mr. Tucker expressed gratitude to the members for their resounding vote of confidence that extends his mandate for the next 2 years.
He further expressed disappointment in the inability of the Treasurer to table a report for scrutiny. Mr. Tucker then challenged the members of the various clubs to continue working hard towards the development of the sport.
The other elected members are: Farouk Abdool (First Vice President), Franklyn Brisport-Luke (Second Vice President) and Deion Nurse (General Secretary). The committee members would be drawn from one member from each of the affiliated gyms.
BE THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL TO THE FOREIGN EXPLOITERS
